Volkswagen of Marion is currently looking to hire a Sales & Training Manager who will focus on team development. We are looking for a high energy, outgoing, professional with strong leadership skills who is receptive to new ideas and concepts. Previous automotive experience including leading, training, utilizing a CRM and developing a team IS REQUIRED! GROWTH! Attend all manager’s meetings and offered training opportunities while actively engaging in them. Collaborate on strategies and process. Implement and execute and hold yourself and the team accountable.

Focus on training and development of the sales team including sales process, “lead” handling and progressive technology.

Work the sales desk, back up the Finance Dept, complete customer paperwork, close deals and complete appraisals as needed.  We will train the right person.

Stay abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers.

Communicate with salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed.

Recruit, hire, manage, and monitor the performance of all vehicle sales employees.

Establish and exceed recommended sales and profit objectives.  Monitor and analyze salesperson performance. Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively. 

Know, understand or be willing to learn the federal, state, and local laws which govern retail auto sales.

Interact with all other Departments to realize customer satisfaction goals.

Supervise the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership

Utilize all technology provided to its fullest, including the CRM, and ensure the team does as well.  Including maintaining a timely owner follow-up system.  You WILL be held accountable for your team’s use of these products.  We will set you up for success in this by customizing the CRM and progressively training on its use.


LEAD BY EXAMPLE. Treat your team with respect. Be HONEST about what you do not know how to do. We WILL train the RIGHT person in all areas.

Previous Automotive Manager experience including leading, training, and developing a team with a track record of success.  Candidates who have led internet sales teams and/or BDC teams regardless of a past SALES MANAGER title are also encouraged to apply. If you have done BOTH you advance to the top of the list for an interview. 

Great attitude, charisma and people skills including the ability to communicate in person, through email, text, and video and train your team on these skillsets as well.

You MUST understand that the CRM is key to our success AND be willing to utilize all aspects of the system both personally & within the department. You must have experience in utilization of a CRM on a day-to-day basis. Previous experience with Vin is preferred but not required.

Desire to stay on the cutting edge of technology with the ability to operate multiple computer systems, phone applications, and various selling tools.  Previous experience with Vinsolutions and CDK are preferred but not required.
